GOAT'S GREEN

A tiny cottage at the Rack Road’s end,
In youth it signified the trek was o’er,
Its feeble shape beyond the road’s last bend
Inspired our boundless joy upon the shore.

Some fifty years have dwindled deathly fast
The cottage now reveals an artist’s pride,
This multi angled dwelling is now vast,
But still Culzean’s in view, and by her side.

About the Author
William F. Davidson was born in Ayr, Scotland in 1939. Raised in Maybole, he attended Cairn Primary School & Carrick Academy before emigrating to Canada in October 1956. He traveled throughout Canada and the United States for three years before taking up permanent residence in New York in 1959. Mr. Davidson has also lived and worked in Australia for two years.
