Maybole’s Christmas lights were switched on in style last Friday evening at the Town Hall. As the crowd gathered for the big moment they were royally entertained by the “King” himself and Magic Malky. Maybole Pipe Band led Santa’s sleigh from the Carnegie Library up the High Street. Onboard wer the King and Queen of Carrick, Ross Keenan and Sophie McPherson, with Cathy Jamieson MSP and local councillors Brian Connolly, Ann Galbraith and Sandra Goldie. Everyone was welcomed by Cathy Jamieson who also thanked the following for their involvement in organising the event: Maybole Community Council, Maybole Community Association, Maybole Men’s Health Forum, Carrick Round Table, South Ayrshire Council, Strathclyde Police, the King and Queen of Carrick, local councillors, Santa, and Centre Great (Scott Mackie).
