WHAT a dazzling night in Maybole for the big switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights. Events focused around the town hall, where the main illuminations are based. Leading lights in the switch-on were youngster Toni McLaughlin and Aidan McQuillan, the King and Queen of Carrick. They were helped by Santa, Magic Malky and and local politicians. Maybole Pipe Band led Santa’s Sleigh up the High Street as excitement built for the switch-on. Carrick Round Table generously provided a sleigh for Santa, so he could keep his own ready for Christmas Eve. And there was room on board for the King and Queen, and other VIPs.
