Maybole Community Council has produced a book and DVD of the year-long events and celebrations of the Robert Burns ... where it all began project. The book has 72 pages of full colour photographs of the project “Robert Burns…where it began” including the re-enactment of the first meeting of Burns’ parents, William Burnes and Agnes Broun, at a market fair in Maybole in 1756 and the re-enactment of their wedding in the town on 15th December 1757. All the other events are included, too, especially Maybole Gala. The DVD, available in both PAL and NTSC formats, lasts about an hour and a half and also includes the same events. These will be a lasting legacy of the town’s connections with Burns and provide some great memories for everyone who took part. Information on ordering the book and DVD is given below.
