Students

We say farewell this week to the University of Paisley students.  We wish them well in their next placement and thank them for all their hard work at Carrick.

Carrick Girls Rugby Team would like to thank Ms Richie (Modern Languages Student) for all her hard work and effort in making the first ever Girls Rugby at Carrick.

Determined to Succeed

Groups of 3 pupils will return to their former primary schools to hear presentations from p6/7 pupils. These visits will take place on Thursday 7th December.

Alcohol Circuit Event

S1 pupils will attend the above event in Maybole Town Hall on Wednesday 6th December.

Big World

On Wednesday 16th November, S6 pupils travelled to Troon to take part in the Big World event organised by Strathclyde police. They got the opportunity to be a part of simulated events, which can occur in their daily lives e.g. fights, sectarianism, drugs and alcohol abuse. Further, they watched video clips of drink driving, which came as quite a shock to many pupils due to the graphic content. The event was enjoyed by all and is an experience the pupils are glad they participated in.

Formal Xmas Dances

Junior Christmas Dance will be held on Thursday 14th December and the Senior Dance will be on Monday 18th December. Tickets cost £2.

Xmas Concert

After an excellent show last year, Carrick Academy pupils will present “Humbug and Crackers” on Tuesday 19th December in Maybole Townhall. Adults cost £4.00 and Concessions £3.00.

Triple “A” Presentations

Triple “A” Presentations will be held on 15th December.

WORKSHADOWING

Congratulations to Linzi Scobie of 6th year, who won the South Ayrshire work shadowing challenge trophy.  Linzi also finished runner up in the All Ayrshire work shadowing challenge 2006, which was a very gruelling process.  Well done!!
