Walker, listing holy wells in Scotland, notes "St Anthony's Well" in Maybole parish (not located; parish name centred NS 29 21). He adds that sickly children were taken to it on the first Sunday in May. Quoting the NSA, he lists St Helen's Well (NS31SW 2) separately. (However, Abercrummie, in the late 17th century (Macfarlane 1907) gives both names for the same well, i.e. NS31SW 2).
