Cathy Jamieson MSP helps local volunteers go MADD to raise money for Cancer Relief

Cathy Jamieson, local MSP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley, has helped local volunteers in Maybole to raise funds for Cancer Relief as part of 2003’s Make a Difference Day (MADD) event.

Make a Difference Day is the UK’s biggest day of volunteering action and is organised by the UK’s largest volunteering charity, CSV.  Over 75,000 people are expected to take part throughout the UK, in more than 4,000 different volunteering activities.

Cathy Jamieson MSP said:

“It is great to see such strong support from within the local community with so many people coming out raise money for Cancer Relief.  I was delighted to help the local volunteers with their coffee morning.

Make a Difference Day is an event which I am enthusiastic to support.  Volunteers contribute so much to the community, often supporting and providing opportunities for some of the most vulnerable members of society.”
