A spokesman for Maybole Community Council said, “At present there are a number of projects and initiatives which could have a significant impact on Maybole.” He said these include:

  • The Maybole Town Centre Regeneration Project where a bid has been made to the Scottish Government for funding to enhance the High Street and improve the Town Hall

  • Maybole Pathfinder Project which is an initiative to consider the community taking ownership of resources such as the Town Hall, Golf Course, Swimming Pool, and sports pitches.

  • The Bypass Committee which is continuing to take action to press the Scottish Government for a start date to build a bypass for the town.

  • The Carrick Centre which is looking to establish a community centre and church adjacent to the Greenside.

  • Maybole/Carrick Biosphere Project.

  • Maybole Castle Trust which aims to develop Maybole Castle as a community resource centre for local history and tourism.

The spokesman continued, “We have invited representatives from these organisations to come along to the Town Hall to describe their projects, listen to the views of local people and discuss their plans with them. “We have also invited our MPs, MSPs and Councillors to attend this event. “A senior representative from South Ayrshire Council will also attend to describe how the Council will support such activities and work with the community in future to develop a new relationship with its citizens.”
