Maybole Historical Society

At the Maybole Historical Society stall there was an opportunity to meet Robert the Bruce as he was inspired by a spider to "try again".Carrick 800 Re-enactment Society displayed some of the armour and arms as used at the Battle of Bannockburn and gave a demonstration of sword fighting and young warriors were encouraged to try out the armour for themselves.

A big thank you to all who helped make our Gala Day a success. Especially William Laidman and David Hunter from Carrick 800 Reenactment Society who did an excellent display of costumes and weapons from the time of Robert the Bruce. All the members who helped erect and dismantle the paladin tent - Jim McDermott, Norman McIntyre, Tom Sloan and Brad Mellor.
