I dream of journey's end
Among these purple hills.
In the morning mist
Where snow white seagulls fly;
I tramp through rolling meadows
To a distant age
Still untouched by time.

Gallant soldiers fought and died
Among these ancient hills,
Where children play
And church bells ring.
Still kings and poets wander
Amidst these ruins;
Where I dream of journey's end.
